I always had big dreams in the world, but trying to 'do it all' left me burnt-out, ill, depressed and suffering from chronic fatigue. At some points I was so exhausted I could barely get out of bed - not good when you have two lively young daughters. It was so frustrating when I had so many things I wanted to do, but was held back by my low energy  levels. For years I tried everything - different diets, healings, therapies, you name it.


It was through a meditation retreat that I was able to completely change my approach to health and finally start feeling well again. Rather than searching externally for the perfect 'solution', I learnt that all the answers lie with me. I began learning how to truly love and honour myself in a way that lifted my energy levels, put me in touch with the joy of life and made me awaken to the truth of who I was meant to be on this Earth. 


This made such a phenomenal difference in my life, that years later I decided to train as a mindfulness teacher, so I could take these wonderful teachings to others. I trained with the International organisation Breathworks, who specialise in mindfulness for people with chronic health depressions, stress and anxiety.  Now I deliver these life-changing courses at health centres in London, but I can only reach a limited number of people that way, when so many around the world need this training. 


That's why I created Mindfulness Makeover!


I've put together all of my training and recorded a series of video teachings and meditations that you can access online from the comfort of your own home. This eight week course is self-study so you can work through it at your own pace. PLUS you'll have a Facebook community to support you along the way.

I focused on the here and now, and realised the pain in my thighs wasn’t anything compared to the anxiety-induced pain I felt looking up to the top of the hill and telling myself I couldn’t do it! I decided to take this course to become more self-aware in order to better manage stress. I discovered that a lot of the pain I experience is due to my own tension and that I can ease that just by being more aware of my own body and breathing. Now I’ve learnt that I can be more in control of my body. When I feel stressed, even taking a few moments to focus on my breath and tension in my body can help me deal with pain.

I learnt to let myself off sometimes. If I haven't achieved what I was hoping to achieve, that's OK because I did my best. I realised that previously, I expected much more of myself than of other people.  I've become much better at dealing with pain and working with it rather than hardening against it.

This is a well-run programme which is accessible to everyone. No matter what your situation, you’re bound to learn more about yourself and take something positive away from it.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How is this course different to meditating alone or using an app like Headspace?

Apps like Headspace are great for giving you glimpse into meditation, but it can be hard to motivate yourself to keep it up. This course is carefully designed to gradually build up mindful practices week by week, so that by the end of the course your whole way of living and seeing the world will be transformed. Also, this course has a specific focus on reducing pain and suffering (either physical or mental) through mindfulness, so it's particularly helpful to anyone living with health conditions. 

Why should I train with Tammy?

Tammy is an accredited mindfulness teacher who runs regular courses in London. She holds an advanced teacher training certificate from the leading international mindfulness and compassion training organisation Breathworks and is registered with the British Association of Mindfulness Based Approaches (BAMBA).


She has also has her own regular meditation practice, so she practices what she preaches!  Tammy is a certified life coach and has taken specialised parent coach training. 

What scientific evidence is available for this course?
